This is the third book in the series and an enjoyable listen overall. Kale William's Audio delivery was exceptional and well performed. I jumped right in from where the second book ended and was immediately immersed in the world building and the story arc. We get to see the relationship grow and evolve between the MC's which was interesting and something I looked forward to. The overall storyline and plot was compelling and as engaging as the first book.

‘Loose Ends’ is the third book of Morgan Brice’s ‘Badlands’ series, but the first that I’ve read. I had no trouble at all jumping into the series at this point. The story is self-contained and complete, despite knowing that this couple was established in a prior book. There are hints to what has transpired beforehand that only serves to make me want to now go back and read those books as well. While I’m not a wholesale fan of the paranormal genre, I do on occasion read those that involve psychics and ghosts. This book seemed like it’d be a good fit, so when I saw it as a selection available by request as a free review copy, I took the opportunity to listen and offer a voluntary opinion for it. This book offers an established couple in the form of psychic medium Simon and homicide detective Vic, both fairly recent transplants to Myrtle Beach. Simon’s abilities go beyond just seeing ghosts. He is capable of speaking to them, persuading them to ‘move on’, sometimes they can assist him in the physical world and he can use their elemental power when possessed by them. His abilities certainly make for an interesting character. Vic, on his part, believes in Simon’s abilities enough to use the information gathered from ghosts to solve crimes. Morgan Brice has given the reader an appropriately adult relationship, full of respect, affection and love, with these guys. Along with the romantic main story, there’s a mix of secondary elements that enhance Simon and Vic’s bond quite nicely. With a haunted amusement park, statue and painting, Simon has no shortage of work and Vic is dealing with a skeleton, missing persons and the looming trial of a serial killer. Both are dealing with exes making reappearances. Stir in some bruja magic with all the suspense and it combines into a well-told whodunit. Kale Williams’ narrative interpretation is stellar. He is an extremely talented voice actor. I’m looking forward to listening to more of his work. Recommended.

This is such a good series! I love the way Vic and Simon's relationship continues to grow stronger with hardly any major conflicts. Loose Ends is such an apt title - people and issues from both MCs past come to the forefront, especially for Vic. There are chills and things that go bump in the night as well as a solid romance and friendships; all elements to make a great story within an excellent series. As long as Morgan Brice continues to write these characters, I will continue to read their stories :) *Audio review* The more I listen to Kale Williams, the more I think that he's great for the series! He has a way of making you feel that you're in the middle of the story. This is particularly effective when it gets to the supernatural parts ...and the intimate times. I really enjoyed revisiting Simon and Vic and the ghosts of Myrtle Beach!

Vic and Simon are Back! Simon is a psychic medium who sees ghosts. He communicates with ghosts. He helps them pass to the other side. He clears haunted places of their resident spirits so the location can be given back to the living. Vic is a cop. Rational, logical, and also happens to believe in spirits. He lost his career because of this, and he now believes his boyfriend. His boyfriend who has become a civilian consultant for the Myrtle Beach police department. This time Vic is the target. Someone from his past is out to get him. This coincides with someone from Simon’s past turning back up to wreak havoc in his life. So yeah, a lot going on. Plus ghosts. Lots and lots of ghosts. Personally, I’m not a huge believer, but these books are just plain fun. I really like Simon and Vic’s dynamic. It just works. The chemistry is there, but so is the love. A love that transcends even the chaos they have to endure to get their man. Finally, I’ll talk about Kale Williams. I really enjoy his narrations and he suits this series perfectly. I suspect there are more books to come and I’ll be snapping them up.

Wow! This is the best of the series so far, and it kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat. I love Simon and Vic! Story: 4.5 STARS Blown away! I've always loved this series, and I would even go so far as to say this one is my favorite by Morgan Brice, but there was something about this one that sucked me in and kept me enthralled. It wasn't so much that I was left guessing until the end about the mystery, but the way the story was written, the interactions from the characters, and the plot were great! I loved it. Tension, suspense, emotional...Loose Ends has it all. Much like the other books in this series, there are cameos from some great secondary characters, a fantastic plot that will keep you guessing, and amazing main characters. Well-written, the story moves at a good pace, but be aware, like the other books, there might be a character or two you want to slap and push into the ocean. Narration: 5 STARS Kale Williams did a great job bringing Vic and Simon to life once again. His voice is smooth, and the characters each have their own personalities. I loved listening to him. Overall: 5 STARS This is one you don't want to miss. It's an amazing story with a fantastic narration. Both the story and the characters are brought to life, and trust me, you want to know the ending. Overall, this audiobook gets 5 stars and I suggest you one-click today!

I always love returning to these characters in this series. There is a lot going on this time around here in Loose Ends. Simon has quite a few ghosts who need his attention, and while he’s being kept busy helping them out his partner Vic’s life seems to be getting attacked left and right. Someone sure has it out for him, with at first minor inconveniences eventually growing into life-threatening situations. Just another day for these guys, right? People from both Vic and Simon’s pasts are coming out of the woodwork, throwing multiple wrenches into their lives. Family and former lovers are doing their best here to turn things upside down; enough is going on to sow seeds of doubt in their relationship. There always seems to be something going on here, and even as it appears they might be solving one issue another just pops right up. It does keep you on your toes as the story progresses, and my attention was fully engaged through the entire book. The author does a great job weaving different folklore aspects into the story, something I’ve come to expect in their books. Even though Simon and Vic are an established couple, their relationship does experience growth here with the tests to their trust in each other. The events of the story serve as a reminder of the strength of their commitment, and both of them come to some important realizations of exactly what they want. Though this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. I think you’ll get more out of it if you read the preceding stories, but it shouldn’t be a dealbreaker and there is enough explanation to know what’s going on without feeling like you’re missing anything. Loose Ends was a 4.5-star read for me, and is another excellent addition to the Badlands series. The narration: Kale Williams delivers a solid performance with consistent differentiation between character voices and even pacing. His narration definitely kept me focused on the story, and I wound up listening to it in one sitting. 4.5 stars for the narration.

Ghosts and more ghosts! A great audiobook! I loved this book when I read it back in October 2019. When I got the chance to review the audiobook, I thought: this will be easy because I’ve already read it. Usually when I listen to a book I’ve already read I don’t need to pay as much attention to the audiobook when I listen to it. Fooled me on this one! I was completely captivated by the story all over again. I think Kale Williams has done a fantastic job performing the books in this series. Below is a copy of my review (with minor edits) from when I read the book in October 2019. Loose Ends is such a great book and an excellent addition to the Badlands series. This series caught and held my attention back in October 2019. At that time I was a relative newcomer to Morgan Brice's books but I got hooked and have read and listened to all of her books published since then. While Loose Ends is book three (or four depending on if you look at Goodreads or Amazon) in the Badlands series it works well as a standalone. The author does a good job of giving you enough details that you would have learned from the earlier books, and yet those details didn't feel at all repetitive to me. Take a look at the blurb; it does a great job of describing the story. I'll tell you that it kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next thing to happen. The book had my emotions all over the place. Simon and Vic are getting on really well living together and both are thinking that it might be time to take the next step but they don't tell each other that. The ghosts in Myrtle Beach are really riled up and active in this story! I was totally captivated right from the beginning and stayed up way too late so I could finish it. I hope we get more stories with Simon and Vic. A copy of this audio book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author. ***Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions dot com***

Another great addition to the series. The title really says it all. And through it all Simon and Vic behave like grown ups and talk. Their relationship is solid despite the re-appearance of exs in this instalment. Simon's mother is a complete cow and his ex is horrible but that's nothing on Vic's. While all this is happening we have spooky goings on at the amusement park and hit and runs that seem to be focusing on our guys. The narrator adds an extra layer to the story.

I absolutely love this series. Vic and Simon are such an amazing couple, and the cases/situations they find themselves working through are so well written. I adore this world that Morgan Brice has written. I was a little worried about the exes showing up, but one thing I really admire about Simon and Vic is their communication. I couldn’t love this more.

This return to Myrtle Beach with Simon and Vic was a fun ride. Simon's side investigations about the amusement park and art collection were entertaining touches. The supernatural elements are fun and include a variety of traditions, the characters are interesting and well developed. The plot provided a fun contrast of crappy exes. Love Vic's family and the relationship continued to grow, loved that there was no big misunderstanding/strong bonds of trust showed through when the bad guys tried to cause trouble. And the audio narration is solid. Great read.

This book will have you on the edge of your seat from the first chapter. There are dangerous ghosts at an old amusement park, hit and runs with murderous intent, financial and social media hacking and other attacks designed to ruin the reputations and eventually kill our guys. Also putting in appearances are Simon's awful mother and his ex. Very satisfying scenes where Simon faces them down and tells them off. There are also lovely, gentle hurt/comfort scenes but even as Simon and Vic deepen their relationship in these scenes, there is a palpable air of menace because neither they nor we know what is going to happen next. A great, suspenseful read that will undoubtedly send you back to read the previous three volumes in the series if you have not read them. Reading them first is not critical to enjoying this story, however. Previous events are referred to with sufficient background provided.

Kale Williams did a fantastic job with the narration. He lifted what might have been a four and a half star to a five-star listen. The story is good, well thought out, and the pacing is good. Simon and Vic are so good together. I want more!

Loose Ends (audiobook) MMy Thoughts and Confessions It was so great to go back and enjoy this story in its audiobook form. I read Brice’s “Loose Ends,” exactly a year ago. Even after a year away, the story has not lost any of its flavor. In fact, it is a little more spicy and flavorful because of the Supreme voice talents of Narrator, Kale Williams. The book may stand on its own, in the paranormal romance department. However, it is a much more delightful story to enjoy if the reader starts at the beginning of the series. The entire series is masterfully crafted, by Brice, with only the finest paranormal elements used to weave tales about a psychic medium and his police detective partner in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This particular story brings trouble to the door of Simon (psychic) and Vic (detective) from their past. As each man fights his personal demons, as pieces fall into place, Simon and Vic discover they must fight together as a team to battle the deadliest trouble of all…fear. I must confess, even though I know the ending, this story still got to me, because of everything Simon and Vic go through. These two guys love each other so much, but man do they get put through the wringer in this book. Even if you have already read, “Loose Ends,” you will still enjoy the audiobook. Kale Williams IS the voice of this series, and he is just awesome!

I really love Simon and Vic. I haven't read or listened to all the Badlands books, but the nice thing is that there is enough background given in each book so that you don't feel lost. I enjoyed the side stories in this one and seeing Simon use his gifts to communicate with and dispel ghosts. The relationship between Simon and Vic and their devotion to each other is stellar. I was sooo glad that Simon didn't over-react about the supposed pictures of Vic or the rent-boy who was supposedly there to meet him A lesser author might have played it up into a dramatic scene and break-up, but our heroes communicate about it and listen to each other. There are bigger things afoot and they know it. The story has plenty of true drama and suspense, nasty exes, and danger. I loved Luis. too. He was a life-saving hero in life and death, as well as a great comforter. This is a great story with truly great characters. I also loved the narration by Kale Williams. I basically love his voice in every book he narrates. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Loose Ends is an emotional rollercoaster that continues the story about Simon, a psychic medium, and his boyfriend Vic, a homicide detective. I love Simon and Vic together despite Simon's mother's interference in trying to get him back with his ex. Simon an Vic have their love tested as someone from Vic's past is trying to ruin and kill him. This book had me on the end of my seat at times, but with the help of Simon's ghosts all worked out in the end. I didn't want this book to end, so much so that after I listened the first time I listened to it again. Definitely recommend and need more of Simon and Vic. Narrator Kale Williams does a marvelous job.

Loose Ends is the third book in the Badlands series, a paranormal, high-action/mystery series with a wonderful romance. This book can be read as a standalone quite easily – I have not read any other books in the Badlands series – but I wished I had started from the beginning because these characters are so fascinating and richly crafted. Simon and Vic are an established couple who are no strangers to danger and the paranormal. When old enemies from the past start to appear, Simon and Vic will have to work together to survive being targeted. I really, really, really liked the worldbuilding and character development within this book. The paranormal world the author described within her book was diverse and fascinating, and it fit perfectly within the law enforcement and mystery aspect of the plot. Plus, the romance and love between Simon and Vic was absolutely lovely. Kale Williams narrated this audiobook and did a great job. Kale’s character voices was perfect and he really put a lot of energy and emotion into the performance of this book. The audiobook production was well done and overall this was an extremely enjoyable listening experience.

I am a huge fan of both the author and just about anything supernatural related. Simon and Vic are two of my favorite characters and Brice/Martin's interconnected series rank among my favorite go to reads. I highly recommend this whole set to anyone who likes this genre. You have to look up the connected books! This was my first book narrated by Kale Williams and he did a good job. I enjoyed it immensely!

Simon and Vic's latest adventures are just a fantastic story, thrilling and filled with excitement and emotional turmoil. Let's just say that there are exes involved, Vic's awful mother keeps trying to bring him to heel in an effort to up her societal standing, and there is a lot of dangerous situations and close calls. But there are also wonderful moments between Simon and Vic, and I love that, when problems arise, they don't jump to conclusions and talk to each other. They emerge from all of them stronger than ever, as individuals and as a couple. This is a wonderful addition to the series, very nicely narrated by Kale Williams.

As a huge fan of this series, I’d been following Simon and Vic’s adventures since book 1, so I don’t know where to start explaining how good this series is. I can tell you that it has 3 main elements that made all the books so amazing. First of all is the captivating paranormal aspect and in every book we learned a little bit more about the extension of Simon powers; Morgan Brice is brilliant in building a world so credible and natural, that you expected Simon involvement in anything paranormal while witnessing how he is more and more comfortable with his powers and this confidence and the confidence of Vic on him, helped people and solved crimes. The second element is related to the police part of it. The plot on this book 4 is interesting and well written taking you step by step in the mystery until the astonishing resolution. The author caught me inside the book since the beginning simply because I needed to know what will happen, with a story so perfect that I started reading it again to be sure I didn’t loose anything. The final element is the romantic aspect of the story and after watching how the relationship evolved to love and more, to avoid spoilers I am just telling you.... WOW. If you are new to this wonderful series I recommend you to start in book 1, to fully enjoy this treat that Ms Brice brought to us. The best in the series so far. Now the audio version is the perfect complement to the ebook version. Mr Williams narration and performance is wonderful with his charismatic, smooth voice. Loved it!!
